10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Jan 16)
4. John Cena Makes $10 Million Per Year
In an earlier entry, it was said that Vince Russo divides opinion. Someone else who does exactly the same is John Cena. Some fans - usually a younger demographic - adore his performances, whereas older audience members feel he doesn't always live up to the billing. One thing that's for sure is that he makes a lot of money for WWE in merchandise sales. That merchandise is part of what makes up his annual income, which is reportedly huge. Recently, the Wrestling Observer noted that Cena has almost reached the $10 million mark for one calendar year. Clearly, that's a huge amount of money, and much more than some people online seemed to believe the WWE poster boy was making for his efforts. Merchandise must make up a significant portion of that, as will Cena's general WWE salary. Adding to his value, Cena has been involved in various movie roles in 2015. If the earning figure is accurate, that means John Cena is the top earner in WWE, which may surprise some due to Brock Lesnar's bumper contract.
