In the intro to this article, it was said that iconic stick man 'Mean' Gene Okerlund built up a lot of love amongst his peers. That's true, he did, and the comments pouring out of social media following his passing prove that. Being a nice guy doesn't mean Gene could resist having a little fun at someone else's expense every now and then.

Just ask Drake Maverick.

The WWE manager posted a funny tale on Twitter a few hours after Okerlund's death. During their very first meeting, Gene told Mav he'd been walking around the halls of WWE HQ and couldn't wait to tell him who'd been singing his praises. When the then-Rockstar Spud excitedly asked who it was, Okerlund replied with a calm, "Absolutely f*cking nobody".

That was the lighter side of Okerlund. Drake ended his tweet with a heartfelt, "God bless you, sir", and clearly has ultimate respect for Gene's sense of humour. He's not alone.
