Also in the news this week was one revelation from Jim Ross that Vince McMahon wasn't too high on Gail Kim, because the patriarch of WWE was unsure about how fans would connect to her Asian heritage. Far from calling Vince a racist, Ross was instead making the point that one man can't rule over the industry alone, he needs a team of people who have eyes and ears all over the world.

Responding to the remarks, Kim herself tweeted that she wasn't surprised in the slightest, because it fits in with the character of Vince McMahon. Saying that the idea of McMahon not wanting to hire her because of her ethnic origin is in 'poor taste', the former WWE Women's Champion has also previously stated that she couldn't wait to get out of the company during her second run there between 2008-2011.

There have been numerous reports over the years that Vince McMahon isn't always the most switched on when it comes to what's popular in the world currently, but this goes beyond that. Why WWE wouldn't want as wide a mix of styles, cultures and backgrounds as possible represented in their organisation is baffling.
