Eric Escobar, another Latin star, didn't come close to the kind of success that Alberto Del Rio has enjoyed. It's difficult to see why WWE didn't put more faith in Escobar, because he had a good look, didn't seem shabby inside the ring and was only 29 when the company called him up to the main roster in 2009.

At first, he played heel on SmackDown and was aligned with a red hot Vickie Guerrero. Having been associated with Edge on television for so long, Vickie had morphed into a true villain to WWE fans. Her heat was - at times - much more noticeable than any other heel on the active roster.

During an interview with The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, Escobar said that he was taken aback by just how over Guerrero was. Kissing her mid-ring during one segment, he said the audience actually seemed repulsed, immediately hating him for even interacting with the loudmouth authority figure.

That heat didn't magically rub off fully on Escobar, but he did say he felt like a bigger star just by working with Vickie.
