Time and time again in interviews the man conducts, Vince Russo will discuss the infamous 'Montreal Screwjob'. Few wrestling fans need that situation explained to them again, but it boiled down to a major disagreement between Bret Hart (who was departing for WCW) and Vince McMahon (who wanted the WWF Heavyweight Title off of Hart before he went).

In previous interviews, Russo has always maintained a sense of guilt surrounding what happened at the 1997 Survivor Series. It was his idea to have Shawn Michaels lock in Bret's Sharpshooter and call for the bell, because he had grown frustrated over Hart's repeated negativity towards every conceivable idea.

Speaking on his own podcast recently, Russo addressed a burning question over whether or not the screwjob was a work. Due to the feelings of guilt and the effect the scenario had on his friendship with Bret Hart, the former chief writer for the WWF says he wishes it had been.

Nobody - at least, those not on the inside during that time - will ever really know whether it was an elaborate plan or not, but Russo claims it wasn't. In fact, he wishes it had been part of the story.
