Booker T became the latest big star to trade WWE's superstardom for the more humble surroundings of TNA when he made the jump in late-2007. He followed in the footsteps of Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash and more to bolster TNA's bid as a true WWE alternative that also offered some recognisable star power.

For Booker, this had nothing to do with money and everything to do with helping.

He told Wrestling Inc that an inherent need to help young talent develop was the main reason why he chose TNA. In fairness, Booker could've stuck around in WWE for a few more years collecting easy paydays, but he wanted to work with guys like Samoa Joe and AJ Styles while he was still in his prime.

That desire to foster talent had already manifested itself into Booker's Reality Of Wrestling promotion and training school in 2005, and he was hungry for more chances to teach. TNA could offer more of that than WWE, so Book took the plunge.
