4. Why Batista & Triple H Didn't Rehearse Before 'Mania 35

In an interview with Pro Wrestling Sheet, Batista pointed fingers at WWE's creative system and said things have become a "nightmare". In that same chat with Ryan Satin, big Dave also said he and Triple H consciously tried to put less emphasis on heel/babyface dynamics before WrestleMania 35 and just feel it when they got out there.

Just as well, 'cause rehearsals were out of the question.

Triple H was deathly afraid he'd re-aggrivate a pectoral injury he suffered at Crown Jewel last November. During a tag match with Shawn Michaels against The Undertaker and Kane, Trips tore his pec and had to wrestle most of the match in serious pain. A second round of that discomfort didn't sound good to 'The Game', so he took precautions before 'Mania.

The pair had planned to run through the match before the show, but didn't due to those injury fears. In other words, they went into WrestleMania blind and didn't know if Triple H's pec muscle might flare up two minutes in or at any other point throughout the brawl.
