Due to the terms of his set-in-stone contract with AOL/Time Warner, Bill Golderg didn't have to worry about money when WCW went out of business. The scraps of the promotion were purchased by the WWF, but Goldberg didn't seem interested in taking a dip in pay to join with McMahon juggernaut, at least for a while.

Come the Spring of 2003, his circumstances had changed and Goldberg was willing to talk. That led to his arrival in WWE to confront The Rock, before having an extensive feud throughout the rest of the year against Triple H. Infamously, his final match at WrestleMania XX was a disaster.

Fans were aware that both Goldberg and Brock Lesnar were leaving WWE, letting them know that they cared little for the bout. Whilst talking to WWE.com about that moment, Goldberg said that he still regards the match, along with his run with the company, as a success.

That flies in the face of previous comments, Goldberg had never seemed too thrilled with the way WWE handled him before. It's interesting to know he reflects positively on the WrestleMania XX situation now.

Most strikingly, he said to WWE.com that he couldn't look at his year with the company as a flop, because he had helped "put smiles on faces". The match with Brock at 'Mania XX certainly did, but more because fans had fun taunting the pair on their way out of the promotion.
