Trying to get his foot in the door of pro wrestling, Mark Calaway was years from becoming The Undertaker when he would camp out in the offices of the old Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas, hoping to catch the eye of Fritz Von Erich.

Those days were ones Undertaker brought up whilst giving an inspiring speech to The Texas Longhorns football squad at the University Of Texas this week; reported on by USA Today, the WWE legend opened up to reveal his humble beginnings and even admitted to only getting a shot because of his passing resemblance to one of the Von Erich boys.

One day, Fritz asked his staff who the "big red-headed kid" was, only to then book Calaway for a show that Friday night.

Later, Von Erich told the future 'Taker that he reminded him of one of his sons who had passed away, and that's why he was willing to take a punt on him. Without his red hair, youthful look and determination to get himself noticed, The Undertaker may have had a very different story.
