Bayley's successful defence of the Raw Women's Title at Fastlane marked the first time that Charlotte Flair had been beaten on WWE pay-per-view since crashing the main roster in July, 2015; before falling to defeat mid-WrestleMania season, the daughter of Ric Flair had racked up 16 consecutive wins on supershows.

Speaking to SiriusXM for a new interview this week, the top female heel in WWE revealed that the 16-0 record came about completely by coincidence and that WWE's creative team didn't realise what they had on their hands until recently.

Charlotte herself claims she didn't really pay attention to the winning run; viewing the streak as more of a statistic than a story, the dominance of Flair is something she herself failed to spot until the number began creeping towards 16 and coincided with John Cena's 16th World Title victory at Royal Rumble.

It'd be easy to imagine that WWE planned Charlotte's winning run all along, but that doesn't appear to be the case, at least not according to Flair's story.
