New Japan hero Kenny Omega will play a huge role in AEW's development now he's signed on with the Khan family and his pals The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes. Together, they hope to provide a genuine alternative in to WWE and have a lot of fun doing it. The question is: just how close was Omega to doing something different?

Very, very close.

Kenny appeared on the 'Jay & Dan Show' on Canada's TSN to spill the beans that he'd "heavily considered" jumping to WWE in early-January. Then, All Elite came to fruition and he decided it'd be best for his career to try that instead. Wow. It seems one of the world's best was super-close to signing on the dotted line for the McMahons, not the Khans.

His mind changed within a week or so. When the Bucks and Cody contacted him, it was a no-brainer, but Omega had thought about taking the plunge and rocking the wrestling sphere during WrestleMania season. Maybe someday.
