For the longest time, those tuning into WWE SmackDown were met with a grinning, dancing Teddy Long. More often than not, the writing called for Long to book tag-team matches, something that became a running joke even after his departure from the company. Teddy is able to see the humour in that situation, but isn't sure comedy is always the best way.

The Pancakes And Powerslams Show recently invited the former SmackDown General Manager on for an interview. When asked which African American performer in WWE had the most potential, Long instantly pointed out Big E. In the same breath, he then said he doesn't believe The New Day is necessarily the best way to use the muscular star right now.

Reflecting on his own career as a manager, Long said he always worked with Tag Team Champions who were distinctly serious characters, like Doom and The Skyscrapers. Obviously, New Day use comedy as a main part of their act, something that seemingly doesn't sit well with Teddy Long.
