10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (May 15)
7. WWE To Present Elimination Chamber As Network Exclusive
This past February, WWE dispensed with the formula of the Elimination Chamber on Pay-Per-View, replacing it with the rather pedestrian Fast Lane concept. It seems the only thing the company had in mind for Fast Lane was that it took place on the road to WrestleMania, which isn't really enough for fans looking to sink their teeth into things - Fast Lane is a poor substitute for the Elimination Chamber idea, in the opinion of many. On Monday's episode of Raw, the promotion announced that the Elimination Chamber would be coming back, albeit as a WWE Network exclusive. It's a cool idea to have events such as this and the King Of The Ring exclusively on the Network, but the question remains, why not just replace lame duck Pay-Per-Views such as Fast Lane and Battleground with ones fans get excited by? Perhaps the big reason for this thinking is that it could help spike subscription numbers for the Network. In fairness, it doesn't really affect fans who have the WWE Network, because they'll have access to these surplus events at no extra charge, but is it a damning insight into the current product that fans are already looking past Payback and onto the Elimination Chamber on May 31?
