2. WWE Wanted Christian To Play A Parody Of The Rock

Remember when The Rock endorsed Christian as one of his favourite wrestlers, buttering him up to take a hit from Goldberg? That happened right before Backlash 2003, but Christian didn't have any more involvement with Rocky going forward. There's a simple reason for that.

Called by a creative team member at home, Christian said on the Edge & Christian Pod Of Awesomeness he was stunned to learn that WWE were considering morphing him into a character called 'The Lock'. A complete parody of The Rock, the gimmick would be played for laughs and see Christian mimic 'The Great One' by using his catchphrases and trademark eyebrow raise.

There was a serious side though, one that's actually a fairly decent idea. 'The Lock' moniker would be explained as Christian being a sure bet to win any time he entered the ring. Although that would have put him over as an excellent wrestler, the idea sadly didn't come to fruition in the end.
