10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Nov 19)
9. Ken Anderson Only Started Watching Wrestling In His 20's
One of the finest talkers of his generation, Ken Anderson looked set to become a main event star for good in WWE. As Mr. Kennedy, the guy had charisma coming out of his ears and seemed poised to someday be WWE Heavyweight Champion. Sadly, it all fell apart for Anderson.
Released from his contract in 2009, he then found some solace in TNA. At the time, many fans reflected on WWE's decision, angry that a lifelong wrestling fan had been terminated. There's just one problem with that argument: Anderson is far from a lifelong follower of the industry. In fact, he didn't start watching until he was in his 20's.
Talking to Wrestling Inc, Anderson told how he only became hooked on wrestling during Steve Austin's rise to the top. Aged 21, he started watching the WWF regularly in 1997, before expanding his viewership to WCW soon after.
Anderson did watch occasionally with his father in the 1980's, usually just Saturday Night's Main Event shows. Falling away from wrestling, it wasn't until just a few years before his 1999 debut that the man really paid attention.
