With just two simple words, Vickie Guerrero could have heat raining down on her from audiences who couldn't help but be whipped into a frenzy by her demand for quiet. "Excuse Me" became a catchphrase sensation overnight, not that it was ever meant to be. In truth, the whole thing was happenstance.

Moments before taking to the stage for a Raw promo one night, Vickie was flustered enough by WWE's last-minute creative changes that she forgot her lines. Scrambling, she begged for calm and bought herself a little time by busting out her soon-to-be-famous go-to phrase.

It kinda' stuck, and it'd be one she'd use every single night she worked from that point on.

Vickie told this story on Sean Mooney's Prime Time podcast, and admitted that she blushed as fans cottoned on to her hesitation. "Excuse Me" was an attempt to stall and enable Guerrero to remember WWE's revised script. It accidentally created a heel phenomenon.
