As aforementioned, Mick Foley was very candid about his time as Raw GM when talking to Ring Rust Radio about the role. Mick didn't always see eye to eye with creative during his time as an authority figure, and he often tried to tweak storylines to make them more favourable to talent. The best examples of this came just after the WWE Draft.

Instructed to set up a 'Best Of 7 Series' between Sheamus and Cesaro, Mick knew the angle needed a little extra spice. That's why he explained his kayfabe reservations about the latter's shoulders, admitting Cesaro was a physical risk and that's why he wasn't one of Raw's top draft picks. Kevin Owens was also in the same boat, albeit with a twist.

In a clever moment, Foley spun the narrative that Shane McMahon had warned him about KO's temperament, and that's why he drafted Owens as #11 for Raw overall. Little touches like this show just how vital a mind like Mick's is to wrestling. That's some seriously good psychology.
