10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Oct 14)
1. An Undertaker Chokeslam Caused Mick Foley To Throw Up Blood
Joining the raging debate about Bret Hart's controversial comments on Seth Rollins, Mick Foley posted a lengthy article on his personal Facebook page this week. Making it clear that he wasn't keen on starting a social media war with Hart, Foley nonetheless staunchly defended Rollins as a safe in-ring performer.
Looking to add some depth to his argument, Mick explored his own history of injuries and wrestling mishaps. Along the way, he told a story that most wrestling enthusiasts won't be aware of.
Coming over to the then-WWF in 1996, Foley was recast as Mankind and placed in a memorable feud against The Undertaker. During one of those early matches between the pair on a house show, Foley found himself spitting up copious amounts of blood following just one Undertaker Chokeslam.
Landing badly from the move, Mick found it hard to regain his momentum and wondered just how he'd be able to take the signature move again. Naturally, he did, even with reservations stemming from the aforementioned claret.
The Mankind character was just what 'Taker needed in 1996. Foley was willing to throw himself around for 'The Deadman', although he wasn't expecting to throw up blood into the bargain.
