As the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, AJ Styles has entered into rare territory. A performer who has also held the TNA World Title and IWGP Heavyweight Championship doesn't come along very often, but Styles has worked his way up the ladder towards the richest prize in the entire industry. That is something to be admired.

In Jim Ross, AJ has a powerful ally. Writing a blog post on his official website, the former WWE announcer couldn't resist gushing with praise when analysing AJ's victory over Dean Ambrose on the recent Backlash pay-per-view. In the process, Ross also made a bold statement about Styles and his performances.

Scanning the whole roster, JR stated his belief that AJ Styles is the best full-time performer WWE have on their books. There will be those who fully agree with Jim's sentiments, and it's hard to argue with his point. Since debuting in January at the Royal Rumble, Styles has knocked absolutely everything he's been handed by creative out of the park.

What a turnaround for a man who looked disenfranchised during the latter part of his TNA run just a few years ago.
