Former WWE creative team member Court Bauer told The World According To Wrestling podcast this week that tentative plans were put in place to debut Roderick McMahon on television in 2007. For those not in the know, Roderick is Vince's lesser-known brother, and Bauer pitched to have him involved following the limousine explosion angle.

Plans were scrapped following the Benoit family tragedy, but Bauer admitted it did look like Roderick would show up in time for his sibling's mock funeral and show a different side to the McMahon family. Creative were excited about this, because the over-the-top fashion Vince, Stephanie, Shane and even Linda had been shown in contrasted with Roderick's personality.

More down-to-earth and polite than his fellow family members, Roderick would have painted a unique picture of what it was like to be Vince's brother. Whereas Vince had ruthlessly monopolised the wrestling industry and become a billionaire, Roderick had led a quieter life away from the spotlight.

It wasn't to be, much to the disappointment of Bauer and others.
