10 Wrestling Gimmick Matches You Won't See Again

The Kennel From Hell match is the Plan 9 From Outer Space of wrestling: a spectacle so notoriously bad it is almost a synonym for stupid ideas done really badly. Sympathy must be spared for the people involved, none of whom had any way of making the match anything other than what it was - a disaster so total WWE has actively played up its awfulness in a way to get some value out of it.

The Big Boss Man and Al Snow had a nice little feud going on leading into Unforgiven 1999, the highlight (lowlight?) of which was the Boss Man killing Al's dog and feeding it to him. This obviously necessitated a dog-based gimmick match. The result was a cage match surrounded by a bigger cage, with dogs patrolling the space between. Unfortunately, the promised vicious attack dogs were sedate and well-behaved, the only symptom of their canine fury being the enthusiasm with which they doused the ringside area in urine. The audience couldn't see what was going on and Jim Ross all but apologised for the direness of what had transpired.

Even WWE has the trace element of shame needed to keep this match from ever being staged again.
