Formerly gritty brawler Maxx Payne in WCW, Darryl Peterson became grunge rocker Man Mountain Rock in WWE. Although he debuted in 1995, he dressed like it was the 1960s, sporting a full tye-dye outfit and looking like a giant Easter egg. Rock would go on to feud with Bob Backlund, who despised the loud sound and chastised Rock for polluting the minds of America’s youth. Before his matches, the lights would dim and Rock would take the spotlight in the ring, playing his electric guitar for the crowd.

Not just any guitar, mind you, but a nifty WWF-logoed guitar. Isn’t being sponsored by “The Man” the antithesis of rock and roll?
