10 Wrestling Heels Who Generated The Most Heat
3. Mr. McMahon
The Mr. McMahon character was so over that fans created a catchphrase for him. The man who dictates what we are to enjoy in 2018 got over as the most effective heel of modern times (in part) through the way in which we made him an icon. And now, he doesn't listen.
Mr. McMahon was very much the "a*shole!" crazed fans nationwide loudly demonised him as. He sought to deprive us of the Stone Cold Steve Austin character altogether by crafting convoluted schemes so intricate Austin never looked foolish falling into them. Then, he tried to dilute him by decking him out in a suit. This didn't work; Austin stung his bell-end with a harsh tap. Incidentally, watch McMahon's face light up here as Austin, in that classic segment, mentions the "power" and "control" Vince holds. He looks like he's just opened up Roman Reigns' Playgirl centrefold.
Then, he tried to brutalise Austin by throwing monster after psychopath after megastar at him.
He did all this with a smarmy, disingenuous corporate-speak cadence that made it grimly clear there was no soul beneath the all-business facade. Mr. McMahon, the depressing echoes of which we see even now with Constable Corbin, was the lip-smacking know-it-all who knew nothing of what we really wanted.
When he did this onscreen, as opposed to off, it was deafening - as opposed to deadening.
