10 Wrestling Legal Battles That Turned Ugly

4. Wrestlers Vs. WWE

Vince McMahon Legal Trouble
WWE

Assembling the largest number of ex-employees ever willing to put a case together against WWE, attorneys have collected over 50 plaintiffs looking for compensation on the grounds that the company willingly hid, (or were negligent on informing) of the neurological injuries that the rigours of the industry may cause them in later life.

Specific wording in the original lawsuit noted that wrestlers weren't catered to "in any medically competent or meaningful manner", with Vince McMahon's organisation allegedly placing "corporate gain over its wrestlers' health, safety and financial security, choosing to leave the plaintiffs severely injured and with no recourse to treat their damaged minds and bodies."

Headline names in the group include Paul Orndorff, Adam Bomb, Road Warrior Animal, Chavo Guerrero, Sabu, Marty Jannetty, and Ahmed Johnson, alongside a host of others, hoping to earn substantial payouts for their reduced quality of life in later years.

WWE has shown little contrition for their plight, predictably attempting to quash the very notion of it. They said "This is another ridiculous attempt by the same attorney who has previously filed class action lawsuits against WWE, both of which have been dismissed. A federal judge has already found that this lawyer made patently false allegations about WWE, and this is more of the same." The case continues, with a full settlement recently ordered by the courts for August 2017.
