10 Wrestling Legends PG Fans Should Know (But Probably Don't)

5. Fit Finlay

Dave "Fit" Finlay is from a wrestling family and he currently works as an agent for the WWE to help the younger talent, but before he did comedy spots with Hornswoggle, Finlay was one of the most vicious heels in the business. After his pro debut in 1974, Finlay wrestled through out Europe and was a headliner there for over twenty years. To put it into prospective, how many top stars were a main event draw for two decades? Bruno Sammartino did it in the WWWF during the 60s and the argument could be made that Ric Flair drew money for over a decade during his prime, but even Hogan didn't remain a draw for that time span so again, all things considered, Finlay is in an elite class, in terms of drawing money, which probably doesn't get recognized too often because it was outside of the major promotions in the United States. Finlay took the European style and brought a level of physicality to it that added to his heel persona. There was a sense of realism and danger to his matches that made the audience believe he really was trying to hurt his opponents. Finlay toured around the world, wrestling extensively in Japan before he made his way to America to wrestle for WCW and then later the WWE. Fans might question if pro wrestling is predetermined, but nobody questioned the realism of Fit Finlay in his prime and that's a rare trait for any competitor.
