10 Wrestling Matches Better Than The One Thing You Remember Them For

4. Bam Bam Bigelow Vs. Hak (WCW Spring Stampede 1999)

Known for: "Oh, I forgot the Sandman went to WCW!"

Why it's better than that: Seeing James 'Sandman' Fullington in a WCW ring remains a peculiar sight, seventeen years later. Though the organisation itself was hardly a beacon of professionalism, The Sandman was something else entirely. A hard-drinking mentalist with a penchant for smoking his head off and getting his w*ng out, his signing was made to legitimise WCW's burgeoning hardcore division, which was under fire for its shameless third-hand plagiarism.

To his credit, he took the promotion very seriously by getting himself into the best shape of his life. Demonstrating a smoothness and athleticism which must have come as a surprise to Paul Heyman, 'Hak', as he'd come to be known, hurled himself off the stagecoach set onto a table-strewn Bigelow within the first minute of the match. As much as Tony Schiavone tried to undermine it, by no-selling the liberally-used trash cans no less than five times, the all-action match was very well received. Held at a time when WCW was slowly imploding, it was a marked improvement on Fullington's sloppy ECW efforts.

Fullington didn't just have some matches in WCW - he had some crackers.
