10 Wrestling Matches Neither Wrestler Could Afford To Lose
9. Bray Wyatt vs. Seth Rollins (WWE Hell In A Cell 2019)
There it is again: "Aw sh*t".
This time, it might be coming from the folks reading this. Any reminders of that tragic HIAC 2019 mess between Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt likely gives fans a headache; it was, by far, the most calamitous pay-per-view main event of the year, and it was totally avoidable.
WWE shot themselves in the foot by even booking it at all. Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend', a supernatural monster akin to The Undertaker, Mankind or Kane, couldn't lose, and they had no idea how to properly write then-popular babyface Rollins as a heroic saviour who could banish Wyatt's warped nightmare. The 'Fiend's' own popularity meant people didn't want to see him do so either.
In the end, creative went for a non-finish, p*ssed everyone off who had invested time, effort and money to the show and pretty much killed the Hell In A Cell concept for good by penning a referee stoppage in what was once an iconic bloodbath stipulation match.
