A rank encounter suddenly became wonderful when Chris Jericho got the bullsh*t out of the way to have a mini-banger with one of his heroes.

Breathing fire against 'Y2J and breathing life into the deadest part of the show, Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat rolled back the years with a spellbinding display that betrayed a bad angle once designed for Mickey Rourke.

When 'The Wrestler' star pulled out, it fell to Jericho to carry Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka and the long-retired Steamboat to something watchable on 'The Grandest Stage'. Nobody wanted any of it by showtime, but two all time greats hooked everybody by the end. Even in near-peak form, he couldn't get much from from the formers, but with the latter, he needn't have worried.

Steamboat shocked the watching world here - his timing, movement and mastery sorted him out with a singles clash with Jericho the next month at Backlash, but the real magic spells were cast in these marvellous maximised minutes.
