10 Wrestling Matches Ruined By One Botch

8. The Great Khali & Natalya Vs. Big E. & AJ Lee - WWE RAW 2013

Watch the video above and you'll be somewhat confused as to why this match is featured in this list. Actually, The Great Khali is always good for a botch, right? Shockingly, the Punjabi Nightmare had nothing to do with the mangled finish of this match, cleverly edited in the aforementioned video.

Natalya locked AJ Lee in the Sharpshooter and Lee tapped frantically, a fairly standard finish except for the fact Natalya had relinquished the hold. It is difficult to say that the botch 'ruined' the match, per se, but it did plenty of damage to any hope of a better presentation of WWE's women, for a short while at least. Everyone came out of the match looking like a fool, which is less than ideal considering the then-fledgeling careers of Lee and Big E.

Until then, the match had been more than serviceable, which should be considered a triumph, you know, considering The Great Khali was involved and all that. Things didn't get any better after the fact, as Natalya waited for the referee to raise her hand, only for the official to tell Nattie that she needed to reapply the hold and get AJ to submit, all over again.

Pretty good editing in the video though, for sure.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
