10 Wrestling Matches That Led To Massive Lawsuits

4. Hulk Hogan Vs. Jeff Jarrett

When: WCW Bash At The Beach 2000 (9 July 2000).

Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff were all champagne and high-fives in their limo as they left Florida's Ocean Center on the evening of 9 July 2000. Earlier, Hulk had worked an angle with Jeff Jarrett and Vince Russo, and was looking forward to a few months off before returning to continue it.

Then, he heard Russo's blistering shoot-style promo.

Amongst other things, Russo called Hogan a "big bald son of a bitch" and said fans would "never see that piece of sh*t again". Incensed, Hulk decided to file a defamation lawsuit against the writer. None of that would've happened had Russo not gone overboard (in Hulk's mind) with his comments after the worked shoot match with Jarrett.

The suit was scrapped in 2003, but not before a lengthy legal process that Russo must've hated every second of. Click here to read notes from Hulk's 2005 appeal and the Georgia court's decision.
