10 Wrestling Matches That Ruled With Builds That Sucked

9. Kurt Angle Vs Chris Benoit (WWE WrestleMania X-Seven)

Kurt Angle was as incredulous as anyone over this.

Just days out from the biggest event in WWE history and the roster's finest ever Olympic crossover star and former WWE Champion wasn't on the card. It took a promo man as good as Angle to justify this oversight, let alone sell it in such a way that made him worthy of an a*s-kicking for daring to question the omission.

Taking umbrage with the whole thing just days away from the 'Show Of Shows', Angle effectively offered an open challenge which was answered emphatically by a babyface-turning Chris Benoit. 'The Rabid Wolverine' locked on a Crossface, secured the visual of Angle tapping out, and the match between the two best technical wrestlers was secured for the undercard of the biggest WrestleMania ever.

If anything, it highlighted that WWE had somehow managed to neglect two major Superstars ahead of the event, but the end result was so perfectly pitched for the card (and impeccably performed on the night) that few felt the need to complain.
