10 Wrestling Matches That Were Difficult To Watch Live

5. The Rock Vs. Mankind (Royal Rumble 1999)

Eddie Guerrero Judgement Day 2004

Mick Foley's inclusion was a given. There has never been a more giving major-league professional wrestler in terms of bumping, with the former Cactus Jack perfectly willing to destroy his own body in the name of entertainment. His back catalogue is so ghoulish we could populate an entire 20-point list built around him alone, and this is one of the worst, with the Hall Of Famer taking absurd levels of head trauma against The Rock.

Their "I Quit" match spilled all oveer the arena, with Mankind out to destroy his Corporate foe. Foley, of course, bumped like a madman, and consented to one of the dumbest finishes of his entire 27-year career.

Rock, driven mad by his inability to make Mankind quit, handcuffed his masked foe, effectively leaving him helpless. He couldn't fend Rocky off, telling 'The Great One' he'd "have to kill [me]" to win the bout... and then came the chairshots. 11 of them in total, with several straight to the head, sans protection. Awful.

Finally, Mankind quit. It was hard not to breathe a relieved sigh when he did, because this was bad, even through the Attitude Era's lens.
