10 Wrestling Matches You Won't Believe Happened In 2020

3. Rey Mysterio Vs Seth Rollins (WWE The Horror Show At Extreme Rules)

The match that defined the feud in spite of the better battles to come, Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio never shook off the fact that the former became obsessed with poking the latter's eye out then ACTUALLY F*CKING DID IT on a pay-per-view.

All the horror show branding couldn't create a sense of separate reality in the way the cinematic matches (initially) did, and there was absolutely nothing Hollywood about the feud and payoff match forever subtitled "Eye For An Eye". Rollins messianic father complex in its most literal form, the man locked into how tough having kids would be the second Becky Lynch announced she was pregnant, and decided to make Mysterio's job twice as hard by taking away the ability to see out of his right side.

What's particularly insane about this particular insanity is that WWE is so disposable at times that one day Seth Rollins might turn babyface and team with Mysterio against whichever singles pay-per-view opponents they've got coming up the following Sunday. Charley Caruso will ask them both how they can co-exist tonight on Raw and they'll just accept the past as the past and move on, as if one didn't forcefully jam the other's head against sharp steel then terrorise and abuse his family for months afterwards.

All this and more, as Raw rolls on.
