10 Wrestling Moments Made Better With Hulk Hogan Erased

3. Brian Pillman Leads The New World Order

Eric Bischoff really screwed up by not letting Hulk Hogan stay at home and not re-signing Brian Pillman to WCW and installing him -- instead of Hogan -- as the leader of the New World Order. Given that Brian Pillman signed with the WWF on June 10, 1996 and until that point was a rogue WCW employee making anti-WCW appearances in ECW, imagine the heat had Pillman re-signed with WCW, only to partner with Hall and Nash. Giving the NWO storyline the added spin of Pillman turning down the WWF in order to destroy WCW would've been great. Hogan made the NWO hot, but pairing Brian Pillman in 1996 with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash in 1996 would've been scintillating. Throw in Sean Waltman and Randy Savage into that mix too, and it's incredible to imagine. The segment involving Eric Bischoff being powerbombed at the Great American Bash stemming from being a moment where Pillman would re-sign with WCW and cut a promo against the company would've been great. After Pillman signs, he then says that he wants to bring out the two men who influenced him to sign. The crowd would "wooo," because the last time he was on WCW TV, he was a rogue Horseman. Instead, out walk Hall and Nash, who after Pillman whacks Bischoff with his crutch, assault him, and then we get the powerbomb moment. Pillman cutting his take on Hogan's infamous Bash At The Beach promo would've been incredible. As well, the subsequent feud between the NWO and the Horsemen, who would've added Curt Hennig anyway and not have him turn (the NWO signing Syxx would make it four on four, and debuting Savage as the interfering fifth NWO member at War Games 1996 would've been amazing), or even the Dungeon of Doom ("bookerman" Kevin Sullivan would absolutely feel disrespected then) could've been great. Sting being a fiery babyface in black and white wielding a baseball bat and all down for the get down of beating down the NWO after "letting down WCW" and losing as Kevin Nash's mystery opponent at Bash at the Beach 1996? We should've seen that, too. Erasing Hulk Hogan from the NWO and replacing him with Brian Pillman? Just consider it. Then smile.
