10 Wrestling Moments That Changed Everything

24 February 2014 was the launch date in North America for the WWE Network. That was just one night after that year's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view and a mere 41 days before the company presented WrestleMania XXX live. To say this was a major change is a gross, gross understatement.

Even in its infancy, the Network changed how WWE looked at business.

The traditional method of selling rights for pay-per-views shows to cable providers was still in effect, and yet there was now a new way for WWE to air their monthlies. The in-house subscription service risked alienating key partners who had been in WWE's corner for years, and it irked those who believed in the conventional way of buying pay-per-view television.

In the four and a half years since launch, the Network has gone from strength to strength in some respects. The 'always on' nature allows WWE to create their own schedule, enabling lengthier programming, and unique specials in places like Saudi Arabia and Australia take advantage of the on demand system.
