One definition of the word 'shock' is, 'a sudden upsetting (or surprising) event or experience'. A full range of emotions, including shock, were felt by the entire wrestling community when news started trickling out about the horrendous Chris Benoit situation. In June, 2007, the Canadian grappler confusingly missed the WWE Vengeance: Night Of Champions PPV. Set to face CM Punk on the show, Benoit was nowhere in sight. Officials were left baffled, Chris Benoit wasn't one to normally miss his bookings. As the situation progressed, it became clear that the man had been found dead in his home. The night after the Pay-Per-View, WWE held a tribute show for their fallen star. That's when things really started to get shocking. WWE were horrified upon learning allegations of a double murder by their recently-deceased employee. Reports pointed fingers at Benoit, claiming he had murdered both his young son, Daniel and wife, Nancy, before taking his own life. The wrestling world was left deeply distressed, even more so by the mysterious circumstances surrounding the incident. To this day, nobody knows the full range of facts.
