10 Wrestling Moments You Felt Totally Guilty For Laughing At
9. Big Punishment For The Little Guy 2: Green Bay Plunge
The braining of Beetlejuice wasn't a one-off - laughing at a taboo subject you only feel comfortable doing so under the promise that you never will again - we did the exact same thing almost a decade later.
At WrestleMania 23, Hornswoggle got in Mr. Kennedy's way. His march to the top of the ladder obstructed, Kennedy vented his frustrations by delivering a Green Bay Plunge to his opponent, only, he wasn't competing against Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle only interjected because his friend, Finlay, suffered a gruesome hardway gash to the head during the match. Usually a man of mischief, this was genuine heroism. He was rewarded by being driven through the canvas from a terrifying height.
It was fine, we reasoned to ourselves. Hornswoggle was a trained professional. He was probably fine, and he probably received a decent performer payoff by agreeing to it. Particularly vicious was the underlying mentality that we actively enjoyed the moment more because we deemed Hornswoggle deserving of it.
"That's what you get, Hornswoggle, you embarrasment. A dangerous bump with a high margin for error. That's what you get for merely acting out your scripted role on television!"
