10 Wrestling Moments You Thought Were Kayfabe (That Were Actually Real)
6. The Rock And Triple H Cover Kurt Angle Genuinely Knocking Himself Out
Not for the last time on this list, it's time to delve into a moment when a bona fide knockout was seemingly swept under the rug over the course of a contest.
In case you somehow didn't know already, Kurt Angle is one ridiculously tough son of a gun. Look no further than the moment The Wrestling Machine was genuinely KO'd in the thick of his SummerSlam 2000 contest with Triple H and The Rock for an example of said intestinal fortitude on full display.
After taking a gnarly, botched bump through the announce desk before the match had even properly gotten underway, Angle was out of it. But with Rocky and The Game being seasoned pros at this point, the two managed to convince those watching on that this was all part of the plan.
And in a way, it was.
Angle was actually supposed to pretend to be downed before being escorted backstage for much of the match, only to return late in the day at the request of Stephanie McMahon. And that's precisely what still happened, but with the additional variable of Kurt very much nursing a frightening concussion whilst influencing the match's controversial conclusion. Madness.
