10 Wrestling Moves More Dangerous Than You Realise
6. Argentine Backbreaker
It's common for a pro wrestler to go through multiple finishers throughout their in-ring tenure. The RKO wasn't Randy Orton's initial finish; that accolade went to the O-Zone. Shawn Michaels' Sweet Chin Music? It came after the Teardrop Suplex. John Cena used multiple, all to varying degrees, but still no one has evaded a loss from his latest Lightning Fist creation.
Nikki Bella, too, stumbled through a multitude of match-enders, occasionally utilising the X-Factor and the forearm on occasion. She eventually settled on the TKO, but even this wasn't her primary finisher for long. Nikki's previous finisher was a kneeling Argentine backbreaker; placing an opponent across her shoulders, she suddenly and dramatically dropped to her knees. Their placement across the rear of her neck gave little impact to suggest they were out, but it did cause genuine pain to Nikki herself.
Her continued use of the move led to Nikki developing serious neck issues, issues that greatly decreased her in-ring activities. Her new TKO finisher was safer - Nikki was no longer taking the nightly impact on her neck - but she was now taking repeated bumps on her back. The danger to Nikki's life was still precedent, so much so that she eventually moved to the Fearless Lock, an STF.
Well, it's sort of an STF, but that's a different story entirely.
