10 Wrestling Moves WWE Banned

6. The Black Crush / Vertical Suplex Cutter

The WWE like to market the idea that Randy Orton€™s RKO finisher can be used from anywhere. If you watch him perform, it€™s likely that the announcers will say €˜RKO out of nowhere€™. And they€™re almost right: Orton has used the move from countless positions, and even performed it in an impressive counter to Evan Bourne€™s Shooting Star Press. And yet there is one position from which Orton has yet to perform his famous finisher: from a Vertical Suplex. Enter the Black Crush. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxGYQpU0Mtk Once again, we turn to legendary Japanese performer Kenta Kobashi for this move. Like his other impressive maneuvers, The Black Crush requires lightning fast movements and perfect timing. As seen in that video, the very second that his victim starts falling, Kobashi quickly moves his hands and wraps them around his opponent€™s neck to execute a cutter. It is for these reasons that the WWE is not likely to allow Randy to perform a vertical Suplex into a cutter. The move requires considerable strength, especially in the knees, to perform. Moreover, such a move would not coincide with Randy€™s wrestling psychology. Orton prefers to use more ground-based wrestling, few power moves, and attacking a prone opponent. Using the Black Crush would be out of place for a wrestler with such a psychology The closest thing the WWE has to this move is one of R-Truth€™s signature moves, which looks like a Suplex into a Stunner. It€™s similar to the Black Crush, but also safer, mainly because the recipient doesn€™t go fully vertical or does not land fully flat. It€™s a shame. Maybe Randy can use this move once and then he€™d truly be able to say €˜RKO out of nowhere€™.
