10 Wrestling Promo Lines That Were WAY Too Personal

1. CM Punk Says Something Nasty To A Fan

Some were very optimistic about the bold risk AEW took with the build to the All Out 2022 main event.

Executed brilliantly, we might have seen the very best of every side of CM Punk, and that was surely the intention: the scathing egomaniacal pr*ck, the man so drenched in self-belief that he fancied himself the Best In The World in spite of that dog sh*t elbow drop getting his - and then reminding fans why they fell for him - was meant to be the full Punk experience, condensed.

They wanted him as the top champion, but a part of you wanted to see him as heel. You got both, and in the process, Jon Moxley was able to emerge with that bit more credibility - and thank f*ck for that, Jesus.

Elements of it were fantastic - Punk did enter a glorious performance from underneath at the PPV - but the issue is that Punk was simply too good a d*ckhead. His diatribe against Mox was one of his best ever heel promos, and on the night he did his big Chicago rah-rah speech , it basically went something like this:

"We are Chicago! We will never be defeated! Except you, ya fat puke!"

Yes, Punk fat-shamed a fan in an ugly personal attack - and, in the process, went too far in both his conduct and the portrayal of his heel character: Mox received so much more support than anybody expected.
