10. Wrestling Society X
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJXcRvvkMu8 Wrestling Society X was an extremely short-lived attempt at bringing a true alternative into the mix, which ultimately failed. WSX was never really established as an actual promotion, but instead as a short television show that aired on MTVs networks. The show took place in a dilapidated and abandoned building dubbed the WSX Bunker. All matches were contested under falls count anywhere rules and further stipulations included various hardcore additives like an exploding cage. The roster consisted of numerous top indie talents, as well as past stars like 6-Pac Sean Waltman and Vampiro. Initially, the program debuted in January of 2007 in the 10:30 PM slot on Tuesday nights. The idea was for the show to compete against the second half of WWEs ECW on Sci Fi broadcast. However, after just four episodes, MTV decided to pull the plug on the bizarre wrestling product. On March 13, 2007, the network aired the remainder of the promotions episodes -- save for the tenth and final one. For whatever reason, the 10th episode never aired. However, it was released along with the rest of the series on DVD in November of 2007. The WSX project was ultimately a failure. The fact that it targeted such a niche market and was around for such a short amount of time means that many fans simply missed WSX upon its debut. If they didnt, most viewers were simply aware of the product and barely remember this incredibly un-noteworthy promotion.
