10 Wrestling Props You Totally Don't Remember

3. Austin Aries' Banana

Austin Aries had a decent run in WWE.

It was hardly legendary, and he was outshined by Shinsuke Nakamura - who was slumming it earlier than most people are willing to admit, which is saying something - but he entered a few very good performances here and there. Ultimately, he fell well short of expectations and did not reach the heights expected of his glittering in-ring reputation - though it's a tall order for anybody to get over in WWE, so his relative failure isn't necessarily his fault and his fault alone. He was given the short thrift on July 7, 2017.

Little will be remembered, but the match with Neville on the WrestleMania 33 Kickoff was a hidden gem, if nothing else. It was only a tiny appetiser of what Aries can do, but it was excellent despite lacking heat from a half-pint sorry half-empty stadium.

Beyond that match, Aries basically stood around and ate bananas during his WWE stint, in a weird "thing" he tried to get over. A staunch vegan, that had little to do with it; he just ignored verified, reputable convention and wanted you to do your own research, as it were, and debate it amongst yourselves.
