6. WCW Expect New Blood To Recapture NWo Magic

By the dawn of the new millennium, WCW had degenerated into a system governed by chaos and a real lack of ingenuity.

Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff, considered men ideal for the task, were brought back together in the Spring of 2000 to try and turn the sinking ship back into a money-making machine.

Their big idea was to split the roster into 'old guys' and 'young guys', leading to the creation of both the 'Millionaire's Club' and the 'New Blood'. On the surface, the concept was sound enough, but would end up being supremely flawed in execution. It was just too similar to the old story of the New World Order.

Fans had already witnessed a top heel group controlling things on television, and the premise had grown tired. The New Blood didn't stand a chance, it just felt like a watered-down variation of the same ideas people had already lost interest in.

The Millionaire's Club came across like the nWo Black & White, whereas the supposedly hip and young New Blood mimicked the nWo Wolfpac. Even the colour scheme of the latter faction was the same!
