10 Wrestling Rituals You Didn't Know About

6. Good Luck Getting Abby's Wallet

Not specifically a pre-match or post-match ritual, but more a pre-match, in-match and post-match ritual here from Abdullah the Butcher.

According to Jim Cornette, Abby had a strict routine that he stuck to for each and every match he ever had. That routine revolved his wallet and what was inside it, and it was clear that the Butcher was taking absolutely zero chances with his wallet.

As Corny details:

"He would take a bandana or cloth, and he would wrap that around the wallet. Then, he would take these heavy rubber bands and wrap them around the cloth. Then, he would stick the wallet, in the cloth, in his back brace, then he'd pull his butcher pants up over the top of those, then he'd go out [to the ring]."

Not just that, but Cornette adds that Abdullah would then get backstage, take out the wallet, and then sit there and count his money to make sure that it was all still there and that somebody hadn't miraculously managed to rob him.

Because clearly an insane 6" tall, 400 lbs hardcore monster would be the obvious choice to try and take the wallet of, particularly when that wallet is tucked into the top of his ass while he wrestles...
