10 WWE Acts That Are Running Out Of Steam

4. Shane McMahon

As noted in the entry on his current tag team partner, Shane McMahon's place on the roster is currently more confused than ever thanks to an aborted turn that perhaps could have been left intact despite the huge changes made on the blue brand centred around Daniel Bryan's WWE Championship victory over AJ Styles.

'The Money' currently flits between battering jobbers and bantering off subordinates and is brilliant at both because characters usually are when they're just inflated versions of their true selves, but what's the end-game for the SmackDown Live Commissioner - assuming that it ends at WrestleMania like it usually does.

Unlike countless others, McMahon will already be earmarked for a match at the 'Show Of Shows', but if WWE are considering The Miz as a reward for the 'A Lister', they should approach with caution. Since returning in 2016, Shane's gimmick (intentional or otherwise) has been that he mirrors his opponent, but being a snake or coward like Miz would echo him at his 1999 silver-spooned worse.

Shane's ego is too fragile for such a role in two decades on - will he even sell at all for the former WWE Champion should the two compete on the company's grandest stage?
