10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Who Have Benefitted From The Empty Arena Era
3. Bayley
In the early days of the Empty Arena Era particularly, Bayley held WWE programming together almost single-handedly. Alongside best friend turned mortal enemy Sasha Banks, her ability to improvise, deliver on the mic and build a genuinely compelling story made Bayley the most compelling wrestler on the roster.
Her secret was simply never shutting up. During the pre-ThunderDome days, the former Hugger was one of the few performers who understood that the deserted venues were made far less awkward when the silence was kept to a minimum - and she filled every gap with gloating, trash talking, and arguing with Michael Cole!
Bayley was a terrific babyface but she’s arguably better still as a heel. Her turn on Sasha was of course inevitable, but it didn’t matter as we were so keen to see the comeuppance. The pair delivered on the blow-off match, too, with their Hell in a Cell clash up there with 2020’s absolute best.
Even when creative give Bayley nothing to do, she’s still as entertaining as anyone in the company. Comedy, aggression, long-term storytelling - she’s proved that she can truly do it all.
