10 WWE Angles Ripped Straight From The Movies

There's a positively terrifying scene in 1960 classic Pyscho that sees main character Norman Bates brandish a knife and dress up as his own deceased mother. Instantly, Bates' mummy issues come to the fore, and viewers are reminded of his 50/50 split between outright psychopathic behaviour and childlike vulnerability.

In 2017, Bray Wyatt teased rival Finn Bálor about the presence of the mysterious 'Sister Abigail'. Then, he said he'd introduce Bálor to her. Then,Wyatt dressed up as Abigail, put on a creepy voice and directly quoted Psycho by saying she "couldn't even hurt a fly".

Basically, he mimicked Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates.

WWE's angle neither came off as well as or lived long in the memory for the same reasons Psycho did. Fans laughed more than cowered, and only Finn deserved some sort of award for managing to keep a straight face throughout. Still, influence is influence.
