2. Kane's Childhood Pain (Halloween)

It hardly takes a genius to work out that emotionless horror Kane was originally envisioned as wrestling's very own version of Michael Myers from the Halloween franchise. Their similarities run deeper than an expressionless mask though - both characters have something else in common.

Kane debuted to avenge childhood pain caused by The Undertaker. As the first story went (WWE has changed this endlessly over the years, so much so that it's now a running joke), 'Taker had torched his parent's home and killed them. Kane escaped, but was badly scarred by the fires.

Badly scarred emotionally and physically, and turned into "pure evil", just like Myers following childhood abuse.

The Halloween timeline has changed Myers' backstory frequently, which is another parallel between his character and Kane's. WWE eventually dropped the revenge mission, but Kane returned to Myers territory by unmasking and being portrayed as an unstoppable, sadistic lunatic years later.
