10 WWE Anomalies (That Were Super Weird)

9. Kizarny Is Aimed At...Whom Exactly?

In the modern era, it's unlikely that any professional wrestlers use 'carny' as a means to communicate with one another. The language is derived from carnival workers, who used to use the secret list of code words to talk without alerting 'outsiders' as to what was being discussed, and it also became popular with wrestlers, primarily so they could talk without exposing things about the business to fans.

The idea of a character solely revolving around this idea in 2008 was a weird one, but that's exactly what WWE tried with 'Kizarny'. Making only a handful of appearances before being scrapped, the gimmick was hardly going to set the world alight, especially because it was pretty out there, and not in a cool, interesting way.

Instead, many casual fans likely just wondered why Kizarny was speaking in such an odd fashion. Was he supposed to be a circus freak? A carnival worker? A psychopath? What was the deal here? Those were the questions many had about the character, and it's difficult to guess whom exactly it was supposed to interest.

If people don't know why a character exists, or what their intentions are, there's a good chance it'll fall flat, which is exactly what happened with Kizarny.
